Dont make them anymore matt, no one does and ive search everywhere
Youll have to get the HS60 mounts from the MeeK, not the full ralliart but best your gonna get

Haha that's f**king *~delightful!~*, I bet if u put mh 90 ones in and mh 60 in that lower one it probably won't matter too much because of the dramatically decreased movement from putting mh90 in 3 other mounts.
Could you also incorporate an engine damper from say an FWD sr20 to decrease movement even further?

Re: DIY: Changing lower engine mounts
Err I think you'd find that if you had 3 stiffer ones and one softer one that all of the force would go through the softer one and you'd chew through it really fast..

Re: DIY: Changing lower engine mounts
So effectively your saying Daniel that that lower mount is automatically made out of jell-o as soon as harder ones are put in?
By chew out faster do we mean, drive round the block dump a few skids and its fucked, drive for 6 months and its fucked, or drive for a few years sell the car next owner has it for a few years then it needs changing?

Re: DIY: Changing lower engine mounts
I don't know, but if you have one weak one and the rest strong then obviously the force is going to be distributed through the weaker one, is it not?silverGPX wrote:So effectively your saying Daniel that that lower mount is automatically made out of jell-o as soon as harder ones are put in?

Is what I'm expecting. There won't be an actual answer, just a standard facepalm response.

They'd be fine for f**king ages. It's gotta be better than the stresses your old sh*tty mounts are putting through the rear mount

Re: DIY: Changing lower engine mounts
Well I've got the HS90 EVO 4-6 Ralliart mount from Meek (MK-19751846) on the bottom front and the Meek HS60 EVO 1-3 rear roll stop (REA21VOL98) on the bottom rear - this mount acts as a pivot point (I think Ben said).
I'm not too fussed about wear, they should hold up better than the stock mounts and they feel a lot better, maybe you guys are more fussy than I.
They are the manual type ones and I've fitted them to a tip.

Re: DIY: Changing lower engine mounts
Yes the softer one will wear out first.
No, doing some Commodore take offs around the block won't root them in 2 seconds.
They will outlast most other components on the car, so stress less.
