idea i had
ok well i want to do a 6a13tt conversion later when off ps.
but i dont want to do all the work like a chump.
i was thinking buy a fto thats already had it done so say i pay 6-7k for the car.
now i then swap the motor into my car as all the work has been done it it and should basically just bolt up?
then put my motor into the other fto, take the goodies off it and swap what i take back from myn then sell it.
what you guys reckon?

Re: idea i had
Best option. All the work is done for you but you would then need to get your car re engineered for the engine swap.

Will probably be over 1k...adzski wrote:Engineer Certs expensive ? Or reasonable?
I don't see the point in taking an engine out of one car, and swapping it back to standard and selling it..
Does it not make more sense to keep it as is, and sell your already stock engine car? Or am I missing something?
If it is your colour you like, surely it will be cheaper to re-spray the turbo car then go through all this work ... But just my $0.02
I just had to add it ......

I talk a lot of sh*t, usually have to keep a roll of toilet paper handy in the car for my mouth

Half of that 'work like a chump' is done to the car, not the engine. Wiring loom, ECU, exhuast, plumbing, intercooler mount are all done to the car. You'd be doing everything twice.

But yeh I didn't realise most was all done to the car so it's basically same as doing from scratch

I actually thought about that, I got the cash sitting there but I can't drive it for like a year and a half well legally.
So much depreciation on that though, feel for the man.

Wish they'd invent a way to paint cars.
Such a market to grab and make money from.
