There are two types of people on forums; those that give helpful advice, and the others

First off, welcome to the club!
I would recommend Castrol Edge 5W-30 Fully Synthetic oil. I and a few other members use this oil.
If it is too expensive you may want to go for a semi-synthetic like Shell Helix HX7 10W-40
For petrol I would recommend BP Ultimate or Caltex Vortex 98.
You should always run your car on 98.
A few people have had problems with Shell fuel, so I would stay away from Shell.
Also, post up some pics of your car and update your location in your profile.

The standard shell 98 octane stuff is fine, but I don't use it purely out of principle, because f**k Shell.
Caltex Vortex (98) and BP Ultimate should be used.
As mentioned, with oil the Castrol seems to be the way to go (edge, not magnatech or whatever the f**k it is). Or Shell Helix HX7 as Vectose said. Comes in a blue bottle. 10w40 is what you want, or a good 5w30.

I fix cars.

I have had mates that have had issues even with the 98 octane Shell. Poor performance and fuel economy compared to Caltex/BPDaniel2019 wrote:The standard shell 98 octane stuff is fine, but I don't use it purely out of principle, because f**k Shell.

Canola oil works best in winter. When it starts heating up, try something abit thicker

Kerosene is okaye as well... heard whiskey does wonders.
Am on Castrol Edge 5w30 ....they come up on Supercheap/Repco's 40% off deals often.
I prefer BP 98, 2nd choice Caltex 98...never go anywhere near 7/11 and Shell..and nothing below 98 octane and I use injector cleaners once every 6 months.
