You can retighten it.. Twist the Top part clockwise n hold the base, not the middle part. Should tighten if my instructions are clear

Fraz fixed the shifter. Took like 30 seconds
What were you guys trying to do? The only thing wrong with it (besides the fact that its old and worn) was that it was mounted sideways.

Noticed that, cheers mate.aza013 wrote:Good to see you are getting some things fixed on it.

Yeah, I'm trying to restrain myself from spending money on it but eh. Will fix up everything I can (get pod boxed, get clear parker bulbs etc.) to make it legal, then fix sunroof and that should do me..
If I decide to keep it after rego is due then I will consider respraying to finish it and keeping it long term.
I fix cars.

Re: Was Rock_it & Sanjna's. now Daniel's New Ride
Replacing parkers tomorrow. Waaaaay too blue to drive at night - can see the scenario now...
"Blue parkers mate, defectable."
"Fair enough, sir. I just haven't had the chance to change them yet, I only bought the car on Saturday"
"No worries. Is that bonnet carbon?"
"No sir, it's just wrapped"
"Mind if I take a look? Can you open it please?"
"Sure" *pops bonnet*
"Pod filter. Here's a sticker and you now owe the government a couple hundred bucks. I'll take a few points too. Have a good night"

Also next on the list is a new shifter and to do all the bushes. Creaking noise all the time. Will do pod box and parkers tomorrow, and bushes over the next few weeks.
Nearly wrote the bloody thing off today after some idiot drove too far into my lane while waiting to turn into it. El-cheapo tyres locked up super super easily. 100% his fault, but thank f**k for the Eastern Creek driver training course otherwise it would've been cactus.
Once all that is done then I dare say it's pretty much finished aside from a respray.

Re: Was Rock_it & Sanjna's. now Daniel's New Ride
The car caused me serious issues with wheel alignment, it was out and then I'd go to a specialist n they'd fix it then they'd check it again n say that it's still out n that's the best they could do coz of the coilovers. I barred the alignment to be done when it was serviced coz of the headaches it gave me.
Even though the car is blue people never seem to be able to see it..

Errr.. let go of the wheel and the car veers to the left horribly. My guess was wheel alignment but open to other suggestions because I'm n00b.rock_it wrote:alignment felt fine to me.. Maybe I was just use to it..

Has to be at about a 15 degree angle to keep car straight, and pulls further towards the left the more you let it go.
Hmm. I will be raising the car a little bit, its not very fun to do deliveries in and it scrapes on a bunch of sh*t.Cassf88 wrote:The car caused me serious issues with wheel alignment, it was out and then I'd go to a specialist n they'd fix it then they'd check it again n say that it's still out n that's the best they could do coz of the coilovers.

I'll go to my missus' Dad's work and get them to do it, they're pretty good and I get things cheaper than trade price

Will get it done over the next couple of days, along with making it 100% legal.

Hmm.. Maybe that is the steering rack mounts..
If tyre tread is even, not an alignment problem. I had no issues with height though.. Speed humps, shopping centres and all that. I thought it was the perfect height..
Get the rear engine mount, I'll get ya the steering ones, and have those replaced at same time. Maybe 1 of those is the creaking? Well, that was my thought anyway, as they seemed to be the weaker of mounts..

If your steering rack mounts are worn, then yeah, it would definitely be playig havoc with your alignment.
Ours felt twitchy up until recently, but always has been that way.
If you have a full wind out of negative camber on the rear (not obvious by visual inspection with stockies on I found) then that can make the car a little less direct.
Get the rear camber checked and have it pulled in to .25 of a degree.

Also have a quick check of tyre pressure while you are looking at wheels.. Car was sitting in the garage for over a week without use as well..
I think the passenger rear had a bit of a slow leak, as I had to top it up a few times...

I can echo on this
Wait till you get your steering rack mounts and the other bushes done before you take it for an alignment, else it will keep returning back to the pull you have now. I learnt that the expensive way..... 6 wheel alignments.... now just waiting to get all bushes done before I go for the 7th
Also, why respray when you can wrap cheaper?

Re: Was Rock_it & Sanjna's. now Daniel's New Ride
Will get an alignment done anyway. I get them done for like ten bucks. Thanks guys ill look into it.
There's a set of speedbumps in a block of flats that I deliver to and car scrapes almost always. Will raise 1-2cm and it should be fine, only very minor scrapes.
To wrap it the paint has to be perfect and its currently not at all. My guess is that they'd strip it, do roof rust anyway so I'm better off just spraying it.
