Re: Jerry's Ride (Vanadinite)
I believe I had a play in both the outers and the inners, moar play in the inners though.
I had both my shafts fully rebuilt, inners were replaced with new ones, outers were rebuilt.
Shafts were dropped off at the driveshaft guy and picked up a couple of hours later.
I could move the shafts about 10-15mm side to side by hand. At first I thought I was feeling play in the diff, but after playing with them for a while I worked out it was the CV's.

Re: Jerry's Ride (Vanadinite)
Im pretty sure (hoping
) that my inners aren't the issue cause i personally re-shafted them so i was able to see the quality and they didn't have any play at the time but the outers were pretty bad, only reason i used them was because I ran out of money (literally had like $2). I knew they would be clicking ect but I didn't realise they would cause such vibrations, in hindsight that was a pretty stupid assumption.

Re: Jerry's Ride (Vanadinite)

Re: Jerry's Ride (Vanadinite)
I was thinking that you may have had it reversed lol. My local CV guy said he cant rebuild the inner cv joints anymore, he mentioned replacement part availability as the reason but I personally dont believe that.

Re: Jerry's Ride (Vanadinite)
Should the inner cv / shaft have any play in them at all?
When I manipulate the driveshafts there is a small knocking sound coming from the inner CV's and i'd hazard a guess that there maybe a tiny amount of play in it.
I didn't physically notice any of the play but the noise is evidence of its existence.
Also it was identical on both sides.

Are you sure you are not feeling a bit of play in the diff?
