I was also busy after that! If that was all I had to do, it could have waited until today!
It does make you realise just how far cars have come - even from '86 to '94 there is such a big difference. Of course, they are not exactly in the same category of car, but you know what I mean.
On the other hand, driving old cars does have a certain charm too it. And yes, I think that 18 years (nearly 19) is old enough! It is probably older than some people on these forums, but I remember when they came out! How badly did I want one!
And to apease the gods - don't buy the Celica unless it is a GT4, then toss a coin.

A mate of mine actually picked up an 89 model GT4 (early nineties rounded shape, ala Carlos Sainz Castrol Celica) for $2.5k (less than $6k landed in Aust) at a Japanese auction and is importing it under the 15 year rule. No visible mods except a set of 18in alloys.
Looks quite clean and the auction report was quite good for the age of the car. (auction grade 3.5?)
Spend another $10k on such a care with wise modifications and it would crap all over any FTO in the performance stakes for the same money.
But wouldn't look anywhere near as good.
Cheers
Chris

2. He brought the 96 Silly-Car already.
3. He went & brought a Skyline GTst instead

4. His computer crash.
5. He fogot his login name or password.
