Re: rims

To answer the question, I think Tippin had 19 inch rims, probably pretty thin rubber though. Depends on a lot of factors. How much rubber do you want? Do you want to be modifying the fenders? (rolling/flaring) Are you lowered at all?
For the width 9 or 9.5 is the limit, depending again on the offset and size of tyre you use.

Pending what type of rubber you're talking about, Ultra thin rubber is designed to either give an awesome ride or a really bad one.bjk wrote:at both of those cars.

In terms of wheels, 19 is about as big as you can go. But if youre any lower than stock height its highly likely you'll be scrubbing somewhere. 19s are pretty borderline. Go with a sensible sized set of 18s with lower profile tyres.
I fix cars.

Re: rims
I am running 17x8 with a +32 offset and a 215/45 tyre, lowered about 30mm.
I get slight rubbing on the inner guard on full lock.

You may be okay. I consulted with Sahin, and he's running 235/45.Lawso wrote:if thats the case, i'm fucked with my rims :/Vectose wrote:I am running 17x8 with a +32 offset and a 215/45 tyre, lowered about 30mm.

Hmm...I've got 18s with low profile tyres and they scrub a bit after being lowered but nothing major.viper-99 wrote:i was looking at throwing on 17s or 18s with low profile tires and looking at lowering about 30mm after the new body kit goes on

18 works, 19 is pushing it.

Re: rims
those are the stock evo tyre size. because its a whole 3cm wider i was expecting stupid amounts of scrubbing, but then again the offset fits brembos...bjk wrote:You may be okay. Yeah, but if you stick closer to rolling diameter surely it'd make it a bit easier.Lawso wrote:those are the stock evo tyre size. because its a whole 3cm wider i was expecting stupid amounts of scrubbing, but then again the offset fits brembos...bjk wrote:You may be okay. I guess I'll be finding out semi-soon anyway how much set-up goes.
