Re: Sahin's FTO, Number 2!
Took the front bar off and installed the new polished headlights
This is the low beam bulb (HB4) *Note the little bit in between the pins to the left* This is the High Beam bulb (HB3) *Note the 2 little bits in between the pins to the left* Hard to see but this is the plug for the low beams that takes a HB4 Bulb *Note the yellow bit in between the pin slots to the right has only one slot* The yellow bit is what is stopping the HB3 bulb we want to use being plugged in. Pull that yellow bit out with some needle nose pliers and plug your new HB3 bulb in Next thing stopping us from using the HB3 bulb is a little metal point bit *note the little bit of the tab getting stuck on this point* What I done was just force it past this pointy bit making sure the other 2 tabs went in correctly at the same time. and once you get the top tab past the point you can install the bulb perfectly correctly... (I guess you could just grind the point away but why bother when it's not that hard to get them in right?) Now you have brighter headlights
*Note that I had the front bumper off and headlights out to do this so may be a little bit harder for you*
And I also done the HB4 to HB3 headlight conversion today so I'll write an up to date guide? lolThis is the low beam bulb (HB4) *Note the little bit in between the pins to the left* This is the High Beam bulb (HB3) *Note the 2 little bits in between the pins to the left* Hard to see but this is the plug for the low beams that takes a HB4 Bulb *Note the yellow bit in between the pin slots to the right has only one slot* The yellow bit is what is stopping the HB3 bulb we want to use being plugged in. Nice guide. +1 Take the front bar and headlights off if you want to do any work on the headlights. Unless you are Mickey mouse.

So, basically you're using high beam bulbs for the lows? Is okay due to the angle that the lights are directed?

Re: Sahin's FTO, Number 2!
Correct , because we have projector headlights the beam is distributed much more accurately and will just act as really bright headlights, without blinding everyone else...bjk wrote:So, basically you're using high beam bulbs for the lows? Is okay due to the angle that the lights are directed?

Interesting. May have to look into them! The regular lights do seem pretty dull.Sahin wrote:Correct , because we have projector headlights the beam is distributed much more accurately and will just act as really bright headlights, without blinding everyone else...bjk wrote:So, basically you're using high beam bulbs for the lows? Re: Sahin's FTO, Number 2!
I'm going to attempt this myself, when I get the chance. The headlights are dull as sh*t for the FTO, and I now find myself driving with high beams on permanently.
