Fak, if only it was in SA. For a few hundred more than an actual UAS kit I could have the rest of a car.

Is that damage repairable? or too much hard work? Wheel assembly looks fucked.

I'd say it's repairable.
I know of a decent control arm to fit to it.

Damage actually doesn't look too bad, mostly cosmetic. Then again, you can't see what the front rail is like on the drivers side, so it could be a complete write off.

Still, $600 for a UAS and "good cond." motor/gearbox isn't too bad
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver

Just got off the phone. Buying the car :) He thinks it needs a new front CV axle. If the damage is really bad, I will part it out, if not, I will repair it for Mrs.

Now got to organize a tow.

hmm, think the damage is more than that.

Meanwhile, shouldn't you have checked on prices for tow first?
Isn't going to be cheap.

The roof is badly damaged, the engine is due for a 200k service, the front axel is screwed and the bumper, headlights, bonnet and fenders all need replacing. A lot of work both mechanically and cosmetically.

Hmm...
Dwayne is helping me out with this one. We will check if it is repairable, then we will fix it, if not, we will start parting it out. I am hoping to get it towed within $600~$700 approx from Geelong to Bateman's bay. If not, what are my other options, how much would hiring a winch truck cost me? (or a car trailer with winch)

My main concern is the front axle, (any idea on costs to get that replaced?) and the roof. Seller says it doesn't require a viv inspection. I will still do a database check to see if it's listed there as a repairable write off or not.

I am expecting a total cost of $3000 including vehicle purchase, transport and repair work to get it ready for registration.

my 2c, you could buy something local for less with less work required.

I'd say this car would be good for the locals where it lives.

The extra cost to move it rules it out straight away as it will slightly exceed the purchase of the car itself.....

again, my 2c.

Good luck either way.
