FTO realible mechanic? engine tappet issues.

Hi guys,

Just wandering if anyone knows a reliable mechanic that specializes in fto's in victoria? Dont seem to have many mechanics that know a lot about the FTO's.

also, my engine tappets are getting noisy? is this a major concern? does anyone know how much will it cost to replace them? or can i just ignore the noise?

What model FTO? GPX or GR? etc

Yeah I want to ignore them but im afraid they may damage the engine in the long run?

Could I please get the contact details of any recommended mechanic?

How are the 1995 auto FTO's are they quite reliable?

Tappet noise wont hurt the engine, its just annoying to listen to. You may gain an ever so slight amount of performance from replacing/adjusting to factory spec but you won't notice it at all.

Most mechanics can do FTOs. Not really anything special about them.

Have u got tappet noises as well? And u ignored them? It just seems weird to ignore them, last thing I want is to damage my engine.

No he didn't ignore them. Tappet noise will not damage the engine though. It is just a big annoyance to listen to.

thanks thats a relief. as mechanics has advised me otherwise. dont have the spare cash to do them yet. but if they dont damage the engine, even better.
