practical car???

Well thinking of selling bike (cbr600) and either buying new cbr1000 or cheap 4 door sedan.

Leaning towards car over new bike as baby due July and dont really wanna keep stealing wifes car if want to go somewhere with baby (My FTO has no child safety bolts and dont like driving it too much, it can keep nice and safe in garage)

Question is if I go sedan not sure what to get, must be economical have a/c etc seeing as will be daily like current bike is.

dont really want to spend more than 4k on car. Thinking of another lancer or maybe even corolla/pulsar etc???
want be modding it just seeing if others out there have had any of these or some other ideas? (And no commodores or Falcons, looks at Payaya)

Yeah had lancer for kick around while doing stuff to fto was cc coupe though. Not bad and partseasy to source. Not sure want another do. Actually prefer a 3 series bmw but in that price range getting bit old now

Had a 91 laser as the firsr car. 4 door, massive boot, cheap as sh*t to run and easy enough to source parts. They never die anyway. Ash has tx3 im sure he'll tell you what an awesome car they are lol

Almost bought a tx3 couple months back for 1200 but even being four wheel drive turbo seemed very slow compared to my fto. And not econical being turbo awd. Looking for something newer than that though. Even open to hyundais or kias

imo, for the price and age of the vehicle you're looking for you'd be better looking for something more reliable and parts handy like a corolla

it's a 96, but k's are reasonably low and body looks good (and has car seat in the back!)

thats a nice find thanks shumie. Not overly worried if belts have been done recently etc but always a bonus.

Would prefer to stay manual though, couple reasons - auto boxes getting old on that era vehicles now and dont fancy rebuilding one and lack of power most of them have with 1.5 or 1.8 motors every HP is precious plus wifes is auto just use hers for city driving.

This car will solely be used to get me from home to work or if need to go out with baby and other she out with her car so higher kms not a issue so can look later model stuff just has to have AC

Umm well I got it kicking over when I moved it from my old house to my parents. Starts fine now, so just the clutch. timing belt, water pump and whatever else on the major service

Only has a few cosmetic issues but body is straight and interior is nice.... for a MX6.... haha

N16 Pulsar is what I would recommend. They have retained less of their value and are reliable and economical, not to mention more comfortable and refined than a Lancer
