help weird noise, cant figure out what it is
the car at idle usually on first start up sounds like something is spinning quite fast, then when driving sounds even faster but its goes by accelration if i back of the throttle it will slow down but within a couple minutes after the car has been started if that, the car stops making the noise.
but the car wont always do it, and will run normally and wont skip a beat.
though i noticed when the car does it on the hot and cold gauge the car is flat cold and when its about in the middle or under it stops.
kinda sounds like something is slipping and spinning really fast but my idea is something heats up expands and it grips then the noise stops.
any advice greatly appreciated

Best bet is to just replace the fans. Double check they are the culprit though. Get another to start the car while you are listening by them.

Great fault diagnosing going on in this thread.
If it was the fans making the noise, you could unplug them while its happening to see if the noise goes away.
Also they are not clutch fans so revving will not make a difference to sound.
They also don't turn on when the car is fully cold unless the aircon is on.
You say its with the revs so sounds to me like a pulley or belt.

Why the right one? Is your lefticle gone already?vipfto wrote:right nut says just a belt
But yeah, sounds like a belt. Have had similar issues with my old FTO.

the belt is pretty new was replaced recently about 10,000 kms ago so if its in that area leaning more toward a pulley or water pump but ill have a better look tomorrow and see what i find.
