which fuel do you use

Post by Craigh »

Not really sure which forum, so this one it is. Just curious on which fuel everyone here uses in their fto and if there is much performance difference between optimax and regular unleaded?
I only have the choice of unleaded, premium or optimax. no bp ultimate. I filled up the other day with the optimax as I always do. The price is $1.09/lt. compare that to the regular unleaded price of 99c/lt. Its sickening, it really is.

What kind of performance drops is there from going from optimax to regular unleaded, or is unleaded just not recommended at all(if i was going to use premium, i'd just stick to optimax)?

For daily driving? Where do you get such wonder-juice? How much per litre?

(or was that a joke that , I didn’t get? 8) )

I wanted to start another thread, what the heck. With higher RON fuels do you have to have a CAMS licence?

Obviously putting better fuel in will yeald much much better performance, but what i'm wondering, do you have to have like a piggy back system first before you actually start putting in 110+ RON fuels in to get the best benefit?

IMO for best results, it's best to have a piggy-back or a standalone fuel management system to reap the full benefits of 110-RON fuel - i'm not sure if the factory FTO ECU is smart enough to re-adjust the fuel and ignition map given a higher octane... (although I suspect it does if lower-octane fuel is used but to what extent is anybody's guess)

yes, you must have a CAMS licence in order to purchase race-fuel (and having "connections" do help)

and before this gets out of hand - it was only a joke!
