Interstate vehicle transport - who wants to make some $$?

Post by Taz »

If i end up getting this FTO off ritici, then ive had a look around and cheapest interstate travel ive had is $950
Was just curious if anyone here would be interested in hiring a trailer and transporting it from ACT to QLD (brisbane south) for some coin.
Id be willing to offer 600 dollars for the 1200km trip (which after gas and trailer hire should be 1-200 dollars) and a good nights sleep/meal when they get here
Might go more pending how many people are interested, but am not keen on 950 from some big corporation when i can get it done cheaper, and give someone here some cash to boot.
Any takers?

Wouldnt it be cheapest for you to just fly down and drive it back yourself? You can get plane tickets for like 100 bucks.
I fix cars.

$300+ in fuel, $200+ trailer hire, 2400km (towing) worth of wear and tear on the car... doesn't leave much change from $600 for 2 days of work. the sleep/meal better be bloody special

If you have something that can tow it, then hire a trailer up here and do it yourself. think of the money you'd be saving as $300 for 2 days of work.

There's potential for a thread about anything on FTO Australia

Cost me pretty much $200 to hire a trailer and cart car from Brisbane to Toowoomba.

Bump with offer raised to 700. If you have access to a trailer outside of hiring thats 3-400 profit :)

Taz, what will happen if someone accepts your offer and has an accident?
For the sake of saving $250 you are putting a lot on the line.

Get it done for $950, have peace of mind.

Ive popped through an online quote to carways - thanks for the heads up dwayne.
Hopefully get some good news on tuesday.
All other companies ive gotten a quote through have been 920+
Ive Pm'ed ritici, now enquiring how driveable it really is, and if i can bring a radiator or something down to temporarily hold the overheating at bay till it gets home. A long shot but might pay off. Just need it to hold till brisssie - binning the motor after that and dropping the GPR one in.
Although after 250 in fuel, 80 on permit, flights and food it will still be a good 500.
Worst case ill prepare for a 920 bill.
Still a good bargain after a heavy freight bill anyway :)
