Changing the mirror light

Has anyone thought of changing the two little light blub on the mirror? i'm sure everyone found it so damn dim, i wanna change it to something brighter, anyone did it before?

hey ruchi....how do you take out the plastic bit to get the bulb out!??
ive atempted it but cant seem to take it out! :cry:

Slide the two transparent plastic bits back, this will then create a gap where you can pry a small flat head screwdriver in and flick them out.

It is far easier to replace the globes when you have removed the mirror from the windscreen and can hold it in your hands. :wink:

so i cant take the whole plastic out? sounds hard to take it out with such a little gap :(

do you remember the LED blub size name? or is it a one size fit all blub? because i have no idea on this one

As mentioned above, they are a "festoon" - 39mm from memory but 42mm also fits. You can get some REALLY bright 6 and 9 LED 42mm festoon globes, also different colours too.

I've got 6 LED 42mm festoons in mine, they are very bright and very white, it's a bit light a fluoro light :P

you can get it at autobarn there the same lights as your parkers i think thecook has blue in his mirror light. hehehe looks good hehe

but isn't blue really dim, my mate had one in his civic blue colour and it's like the same as a 10% left battery touch :D

yeah blue is pretty dim heheh cant see anyfing hehehe i still got stock heheh so yeah.. i might change to white with pinky tint hehe

you talking about blue bulbs or blue LEDs?

If you get a 6 LED festoon it should still be bright in blue, or you could go way out and get the 9 LED version! 8O

Don't get the 2 LED ones, they are just as bright as the original bulbs, as I have just found out :roll:
