But nah in all honesty I think its gonna take me a little while to work it all out once I can get started on it but im not too worried.

It's not that people would follow your how to step for step, but it would give a few people the confidence to do it themselves and keep a few more FTOs on the road

Some updates, progress and pics

Picked up the new GR Sport from Dwayne's on Sunday (thanks again, fraz!)

Have pulled the dash out (except for one little prick of a clip) and stripped interior (except for the carpet) as well as taken the wing off in prep for the new one.

The ECU and front loom are pretty much right to come out, and thats what I'm planning to have done by today. At the very least I want to have the ECU out but ive got a few things to do..

Clean all the interior bits while waiting on the engine work is the plan.

Im replacing the rear seats with plain black version R ones, cleaning the front seats and carpet, swapping my headunit and cup holders around and stuff. Was just easier to pull it all apart. Took less than 2 hours to get it all apart so may as well.

We have established that I am not good with cars but I'm at least trying to be organised!

Im going up to buy some paint for the strut brace when I get paid

But the engine will go in first, for now I dont really need the shelf space.

After 12 pages of thread, I have picked up another engine thanks to Shane001 and it is now at Thornleigh Cylinder Heads. Waiting for a call on Monday for a quote and ETA etc.

Also picked up some extra bits.

Total spent so far -

$1400 for shell (dstocks)
+ 200 odd to get back to Sydney

Engine from Shane $300
+ transport to shop $130

All manual gear - $450
+ $100 odd to ship
+ Bennoz rebuild (soon) $500 + beer

Starter motor, alternator and GPX brake caliper upgrade (will chuck reco kit through) - $300

Bits and pieces - Dash bulbs, rings, gear knob, etc etc. about $200ish

Total = ~$3500

To do - Engine rebuild (unsure $$, few grand)
Tyres - $600ish
Blue slip, rego, insurance - $~2k
