Respray - decisions decisions

Post by Taz »

So its just over a month till i get the licence back and one of the first things i need to do is take it in to the panel beaters, and get some body work/respray done - luckily there is a family friend who can do an excellent job for relatively cheap with the work involved - and while he would be pretty much be respraying the whole thing anyway, why not go a bit crazy
Not set on a color yet, or what type of paint i want.

At this stage im really digging the this color (which is a pearlescent dark blue/purple)

Also was thinking of a dark metallic green. Maybe a very deep red (much darker than the banner fto).

I just dont want it to be a really flat boring paint job if im forking out 2-3k for it (and thats a discounted price )
What are your thoughts on this?

I quite like the more metallic colours. There's a paint on some of the mazda2 which is a dark silver almost teal which I would probably go for if I was respraying. Green would be a bit more unique than red, but I guess it depends what sort of style you're after.

I think a colour similar to this would look cool :)

I was looking at that one too nighthawk, but it seems a bit bright for my taste. Maybe if the orange was a bit darker

For once I'll for-go the trolling.

How about a champagne color? a light pearl style.

You and Taz make up?

Color option: Factory white...

@Dan - do you mean like the symphonic silver or a bit lighter?

@Taz - Black with either a nice coloured pearl would look good ;) (red, blue, orange)

That is just Mitsubishi Passion Red (stock colour) it goes a bit orange in the sun light especially in photos :clown:

It needs to be panel beated, it will then require quite a bit of paint, and then it will probably look two tone as im sure after 15 years in the sun its not the same as the factory W83 color, so just spray it instead of wrapping it
Cant guarantee mates rates but the guy does good work, and is cheap enough as it is :thumright:

You could always look into a rainbow pearl colour

The boss has it on his RS Camaro - looks black when its in the shade, then goes from purple to royal blue to green pearl as you walk around it in the light :jerk:

It's actually a lot more purple in different lighting :)

The bayside blue looks a lot better though.

Yea that last picture has sealed it (never seen it before) def's gonna go that pearlescent, although ill probably mix a bigger shade of blue in, so its more like the first pic i posted under light - although i dont mind that last one.
