Ftevoultion my thermos come on with the ignition 2 man and everytime I open the engine bay they always seem to be running but I will make sure.
Cool as my man, just checking aye. Often times these problems are caused by electrical faults. Just to clarify, ensure that the fans don't stop when the car actually starts or that they at least run when the car gets hot.
Still think about replacing it; for minimal cash you can get one fabricated to the same dimensions but it will have far better thermal transfer properties
Ok got a phone call from the bloke and car is good gets a little hot after a few runs but does cool down on idle for a little bit. So should have car back today

Aluminium all the way biches!
I've heard nothing but bad news about Ally radiators on FTO's
Anywho, if you wanna get one made, here's the dims.
Has Ben how much was that going to cost mate. Well car is being tuned but we can't seem to get the gizzmo to go into the correct screens so I am putting a manual turbo smart on it for alittle until my mate can set it up for me as he did his own. I am going to buy them 2 12 inch fans to Ben and get a shroud made up for them

Yup no way i would be buying a alloy radiator
Yes alloy does have better transfer but that doesnt mean sh*t when the temp stays hot.
Alloy heat absorbtion is far worse than the likes of stainless steel.

Bit of a thread revival, I understand (don't go blowing those knee-high socks off just yet astron)
I'm looking into replacing the factory viscous roarer with either a single 16" or twin 12" thermo fans (will be fully shrouded either way). The only concern I have is that the thermos won't pull as much air through as the viscous unit, so was thinking about upgrading the radiator from the flimsy single 16mm core to a twin-core 26mm aluminium (56mm total thickness). Yet you guys aren't too happy with the performance of the alloys...
As I understand it, the alloy has better heat transfer but also suffers from heat-soak a lot more. Do you think that I would have an issue with this or would I be able to get away with it?
