So after a request to see if i still had my HID's i ripped out of a wreck ive noticed that a) ive either sold or misplaced the bulbs themselves, and b) that one of those bulbs still must of had wiring on it.
As you can see from the pics, one of the looms is missing a bit of wiring - im going to assume that this is needed, and that it pretty much renders the kit useless without it (i.e. better off buying a new kit)
Is this the case or can this kit still be salvaged/be useful?

This is where the incomplete one misses the connection - its not a cut wire but rather a plug, and is missing the other

That looks like you got frustrated and yanked the wiring off the bulb, hence destroying it. Given the HID bulb is basically an arc welder across a xenon gas, I would be binning the kit and just getting a new one. Don't want that amount of current across a dodgy connection.

Nah i didnt yank anything out, i carefully cut wires where necessary as far up the wire as i could - the connection that is missing is a plug, and if i had the other end plugs straight up.
But seeing as how i dont, as youve pointed out its probably useless to try and replace it over getting a new kit.
Question though - can these ballasts be salvaged though in case someones dies etc? Or are they specific to this kit?
