Has anyone ever used it?
I'm getting a whole carpet as mine is a little worn, the one I am replacing it with is better but id like it pitch black, as I find if its not black black its makes inside look cheap.
Something I'm worried about is that it'll make the carpet fibres stiff.
What do you reckon?

Re: Car Carpet Dye
I have used VHT Vinyl Dye on my headliner and it has made the fibres a little stiff.
All the spray on dyes are is a flexible paint with adhesion promoters.
If you use an actual dye then it shouldn't make the fibres stiff.

If you dont really have access to a container that big, you could always do it in sections in a smaller container.silverGPX wrote:Would I have to go like a big bin or something and fill it with the dye and let it soak u think?
Where are you getting your carpet from? Can you not just get the darkest black possible or do they not have anything as black as you are looking for?
Or is it from another car?
I fix cars.

Re: Car Carpet Dye
Its a 2nd hand carpet from Sahin. He says its better than mine but it'll probably still look a little worn.
I was gonna buy one of those mid size garbage bins from a cheapy shop. But might be a bit hard to do it in sections.
I looked at a few bids of the sprays on YouTube but the carpet had big loops, fto carpet is really fine, almost flat. Not sure how itd go.
Maybe I could keep scrubbing it with a stiff brush as it dry's to keep the soft feel, argh I dunno
Was gonna cut removalists carpet to put under as well to make it rly quiet

The spray dyes dry very quickly, so if you scrub it in you would have to do it in small areas and it would most probably end up looking like crap.
