I have started to apply for positions as a tradie.
I have been applying for positions all over the country; Thiess and Double R Heavy Equipment in Mudgee, Liebherr and Setco and Aggreko in the Hunter; several BHP and Rio Tinto mines in WA (upto 170k PA).
But the ones I want most so far.....
Cargotec, craddle crane mechanic @ Port Botany ($41ph)
C&L Sales and Services, aviation refuelling vehicles mechanic @ Melbourne Airport ($35ph to start then $^)
Fingers crossed
That's some decent coin ! Almost as much as sparkies ! That's nuts
Vacuum Truck Driver, I go around Christchurch and suck out blocked up sewer mains, pays $19ph...it's a bit of a rip off really, the company works holiday pay into that, so I actually only earn $17.20ph or somewhere around there.
The job itself and the work is ok, but my boss and the GM are both royal pricks, so I am going to an interview for another job tomorrow for a crowd that really want me to work for them.

That is only if you can find a job that is. For interior design, there is not really that much work... Unless you get the right connections.
But to work for a company over here, as an employee, I would say you would be hard pressed to get the $40 per hour mark ..
I just had to add it ......
