Illegal HID lights?

Post by jimmyxiao »

Hi everyone,

Who can please tell me what is the size or model for 96 FTO GPX headlight kits ( factory one not hid one). Thank so much.

The reason why I wanna change it is I got a fine last night, policeman just put me over and did a vehicle check and they said my headlights are too bright. I have no idea, I bought my fto for half year long already doesnt have any problem with the lights before and I didnt change anything after I bought it. If they are illegal how could they pass RWC? I got very upset about this. coz I did nothing on my car but got $110 fine.

Police asked me to change HID lights back to be normal one. I even dont know what are they like. Sorry to trouble your guys here.

Message dwayne (dstocks) he should have a bazillion sets of stock lights.
Someone would have chucked in HID's at some point, and only the GPR can legally have them as they were fitted from the factory (although this is a very shady topic and cops will probably fine us anyway)
Its not hard, just remove the HID's and the box that will accompany them and replace them.

Sucks to hear mate :(

And make sure you don't buy anything above 4000K temperature bulb. In documents 4000 or 4300 is the maximum road legal temperature allowed for the headlight bulbs.
(Or was it 3700k? Can tell you for sure once am in front of a computer)
Oh, BTW, we have a group buy going for head light bulbs. Order will be confirmed by Jan. Check the general section in the forums for details.

Hide the hid ballasts behind the front bar and get 4300k hids.

Fto headlights with stock bulbs suck balls. You can't see sh*t
