Car wont go to accessories
As above my car isnt getting into the accessories stage in order to start.
So if i turn the key in the ignition the key will move into the position but the various lights will not appear on the dash. Subsequently it wont start.
Also i dont think its due to a flat battery because stereo headlights etc. work.
Help much appreciated

Re: Car wont go to accessories
Is the key physically getting stuck at the accessories point, or does it go all the way to start?

Yes the car has an immobiliser which deactivates when the key is turned past accessories but not to crank then back to accessories. very convolutedVectose wrote:Does your car have an immobiliser?

Radio and lights cam still work with a flat battery...
I think you need just over 9volts in the battery to start the car, but the radio and lights use Bugger all.. This is why hazard lights can still work on a flat battery..
When was the last time the car was used? Has it just been sitting there?

Re: Car wont go to accessories
That may be your problem.. I have this issue with my Evo.. So bought a charger that is constantly hooked up to the battery and wall.. Charger kicks in when the alarm sucks the juice.. Then cuts out when charged.
If you have a multi metre see what Amos the battery is putting out when you go to kick it over.. I bet it will be at 4 or 5 amps..

Turn your head lights on and have a peep out front to see if they are bright. If they are dull your battery is almost dead.
If they are bright and you are not getting any dash lights etc check the interior fuses.
