The manual says we should use two different types of spark plugs. (Normal plug) NGK BKR7EKC-N for the front set and (White/Gold plug) NGK PFR7M for the rear sets.
Question is, why do we need two different type of sets for the front and rear? Can't one type, either the BKR7EKC-N or PFR7M be used for all the 6 slots? Not after any iridium/platinum/titanium/goldanium plugs...just want good old copper plugs but keen on why use different sets. What will happen if someone uses the same type of plug for all the slots?

They are the same plugs it's just that Mitsubishi decided to use platinum plugs in the rear because they're harder to get to.

Aha! So less frequent plug changes.
Logical thinking.
Thanks Vectose.

Not really that harder to get to, but yea just means you dont have to take off the manifold and stuff as often haha

Well I'm drunk and don't care haha. What I said makes sense. Taking off the manifold isn't hard, and if people complain about that then HTFU

I have taken the manifold off so many times I can get it off in under 10 minutes. (have timed myself)
But the fact is I said they are "harder" to get to than the fronts, seeing as its just the MIVEC cover that needs to be removed for the front bank.

I know the feeling mate, although never timed myself. Although I counted how many times I swore when I realised i'd put the intake manifold on with the throttle cable tangled up, then I lost count haha.
But yea "harder" but not hard

Haha so true! I have never timed it, but magnas are almost exactly the same as the 6a12 and unfortunately I rip the manifold off them much too often.
I've never timed myself but I reckon I can get both rockers and manifold off in under ten minutes
Thank you makita! Can it take off the back manifold bolts???? Yes sir! Best tool ever.
