Sunroof Shade split and off rails

Post by Technikhaus »

Hey all,
As the title says, the two halves of the shade has split apart, and both parts are off their rails.
Does anybody know how I can get them back together again?
I can't open the sunroof with the shade like this :(

Does the glass itself open up?

It would, and I can open wedge it, but it can't pull back, due to the shade not retracting

I know how to put them back, but you need to take the glass out, and to do that you need to be able to access it from the inside. :?

I can access it from the inside, they are completely off the rails, I could probably remove them easily enough...

Take the glass out from inside the car (3 star head screws on each side), then take the boards out from the top.

So I got it all fixed WITHOUT removing the glass :)
I wedged it up, and then using a long screw driver I was able to push the clips in, and put it back on it's rails.
Tested, and all working fine again, can't wait to be finally able to use it again :D

You'd be able to use it at least 4 hours a year in Dunedin

Haha, I'm lucky for that a month :P
Today would have been nice! I could only use it half open :(
