vipfto, I'm trying to get a cam tray from a friend to test. Hopefully it will solve the problem.

Not cam tray just coil pack mate sounds like arcing out to me ;)
You mean it's electrical pulse ? But we can feel the knocking on the cover =/

No worries, just trying to assist :D

My 10 year old son, Steven, just heard the video and said that "It doesn't sound like an engine it sounds like electric volts hitting you"

Have you checked if your sparkplugs are all still there?
I had one disintegrate on the old car, ended up with the compression down on number 1 and smoking so 2nd hand engine time.
Hopefully it's just a coil pack though.

We did check.. got nothing to do with the sparkplugs. I did pull out the plug one by one while the engine was running and the knocking sound still continue. :?

Today I went back to my mechanic and ask him to check the tappets gap and found that they are too high. The correct gap is 0.13 mm but mine are from 1 mm to 2 mm :o He will do some tuning later and hope that will solve the problem. I ask him why didn't he check that before and he said that he didn't have a guideline for FTO Mivec engine as I'm the only car left on this island

WOW, that's a big gap. No wonder it is sooooo noisey.
Intake tappet gap = 0.10mm
Exhaust tappet gap = 0.13mm
This might help.....

 I hope you've decided to find another mechanic

Even if he didn't know the correct settings, 1 to 2mm is just so completely wrong :facepalm2:

Just an update for you guys ... The tappets adjusting did not help. The noise is still around :? Now I'm waiting for a replacement cam tray set which I managed to buy from internet.

Mate do yourself a favour, download and print out the engine manual, take the rocker covers off yourself and have a good look.

I'm assuming when you say you did a 'cam clean' you've dismantled the camshafts, rockers, etc. Considering your mechanic put it back together without adjusting the valve clearances correctly, what's the bet he's put the intake cam where the exhaust should be, or something just as stupid

And what is a 'replacement cam tray set' include?

Personally I'd be finding a new mechanic. Even if he's not charging you for his time to fix this he's costing you money with the potential damage he's causing.
