auto/tip hesitation juddering at low RPM help please.

Post by hogan »

little bit of a problem ive noticed since ive put the car on the road at the weekend. its the 4 speed auto tritronic gpx mivec version. when taking off the car will judder and hesitate, rock back an forth if that makes sence and there is a knocking noise. this only happens when taking off at slow speed or crawling in traffic, once the pedal is pushed down a little over 2500rpm or so it will drive fine. This also happens when on the motorway etc and car is rolling then as go to up the revs a little it will judder again. Sometimes on the motorway it will drop down to 3rd gear when the car is rolling on the motorway.

Anyone have any ideas? i have just replaced the rear engine mount with a new oem mitsubishi one. Helpplease ha frustrating when crawling in traffic at low speeds i look like im driving a manual and only learning to drive haha

Yep, check the fluid. If they put the wrong stuff in it wouldalso cause issues. The tip box is very particular when it comes to its transmission fluid.

I think the oil thread will give you that info. Just do a search on transmission oil and see what you come up with

So throttle position sensor? Was talking to a mate he suggested its something with the intake idle air control valve? Best place to pick up tps sensor?

Nah wont be the idle control valve. If you are receiving a juddery low speed acceleration it's usually a TPS. You may just need an adjustment.

Do a search on how to adjust it. The guide is wrong as it mentions jumping wires with pins is actually wrong. You just pull the connector off the TPS.
