Re: Big brake kit
They look the sh*t and a good price tooBennoz wrote:Just ordered some lightweight rotors![]()
Lightest ones on the market, the 2 piece Baer EradiSpeed-Plus rotors.
To give some comparative weight numbers per rotor:
Stock rotors - 9.7kg
DBA 5000 - 8.4kg
Girodisc 2pc - 8.25kg
Project Mu SCR-Pro - 8.16kg
Baer Eradispeed - 7kg
So that's almost 3kgs of rotating mass removed from each side...
$480 for the pair out of the US. Just waiting on what will no doubt be a hideous freight costThinking it'll be around the $250 mark.

Re: Big brake kit
UPS quote was $489
But USPS was only $189
So $684 US all up
That's approximately half the price of anything available locally like DBA 5000s or the Project Mu's.
And they wonder why the retail industry in this country is going down the shitter...
Coming from these guys BTW: https://secure.buschurracing.com/catalog/index.php

Re: Big brake kit
Hey Ben, they look like they're curved vein? Are they floaters or solid mount?

Re: Big brake kit
Yep, curved vein, but only solid mount. The floaters were another $150 each. Not really needed for my singular track day per year

FML, $130 for 2... delivered

Bit like using the word 'Evo' over here, everything is 10 times more expensive, the key is to use the word 'Galant' over there as opposed to 'Eclipse' in order to pay half the price!

Re: Big brake kit
These brakes have started clunking a bit recently, especially when when going from forward to reverse as the pads shift. So ordered a new set of retaining springs, pins & shims. Genuine Brembo, $120 all up from Amamamamamamamayama

Re: Big brake kit
Just updating a link here, the bottom one has moved. Now at: http://www.apdty.com/ShopByVehicle.epc? ... ls&mode=PABennoz wrote:More FYI. One of the hubs I've got has worn splines on the inside, giving me a 'clang' when I release the clutch in a hurry, so I started researching the hubs & what replacements are available.
As per usual, I have to replace the whole f@cking wheel bearing assembly... of which Chris Meek challenged me to find for any less than $300 bucks.
First stop was Camskill @ 155 quid + postage:
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m8b0s2323p111 ... n_5_6_CP9A
Then Amayama @ $243 Aus
http://www.amayama.com/search/?q=MR334386
Then Ebay @ $124 + $65 postage...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300686075114 ... 750wt_1163
Then I though, f**k this, I'll cross reference it with the US model Dodge Challengers, RVRs & Eclipses etc...
Low & behold, it's used on just about every Eclipse that was ever released.
Which led me to these guys in the US...
$55 bucks + postage![]()

Seems I damaged the previous ones when the CV joints sheared off
