Passenger headlight - bits missing - help!

Finally got round to looking at why my passenger head light (dipped beam) doesn't come on, thought it would just be a blown bulb and I have factory hids which are hard to get at but after removing the airbox I managed to get a better butchers at it.

Butchers is the right word, someone has butchered the lights for some reason, no sign of hids although it's a hid unit. I've read up that this is common and that they may have been switched to a different bulb and indeed the drivers side has a H1 in it with a modified spring/housing thing to keep it in.
But the main thing is on my passengers side there's not even a bulb in or the holder bit so where do I go from here?


Anyone got the spring/holder bit I need or can let me know where I can get it from?
Or is there a better option - I guess if I rewire the hids in and get hid bulbs I still need the connectors and holder?

The hids were converted during compliance as they arent legal according to the ADR's. Ive got the same done to mine.

I Don't suppose you have a spring clip and sandwich plate thing to hold a H1 in place do you Dwaye or know where I can get one?

Ive got bad news im afraid. Those parts are specific to the Xenon lights and are a part of the headlight (cant buy them separately). And I dont have any buggered Xenon units.

My opinion.

Bugger off the Xenons and get normies.

If the ballasts go, they're a prat to get a hold of.

Was very lucky to get mine off Dwayne. (only as he had a spare)
And besides, if you get normies you can put in a generic HB4? kit to run HID if you really wanted...

Ive got Xenons on the shelf still, but if I separate the spring it makes the rest of the light useless im afraid.

Ok, spring is just a piece of bent thick wire right? might see if I can make one.

Sorted, made a spring from an old clothes peg spring and made adapter plates from a couple of pieces of ally as the H1 is too small and would fall through the hole.
Now have two working headlights, just need to sand the bloody lacquer off now and give them a polish.
