it would still be front wheel drive when you put an evo engine in it... you would have to change the drive train which is more $$$, $$$ that im pretty sure most of us dont have...TimmyD wrote:its called an evo engineakuma3 wrote:lota interesting reply lol
i just wish i could mod my fto to be 4wd and turbo it lol
i got killed by a integra type r... but then it got pulled over on parramatta road... im driving tiptronic by the way... probably wouldve been different story if i was manual aswell
i beat a honda integra gsi and it was manual but thats probably because its 100kW at the flywheel ahaha and no VTEC YO!!!!!
and thats the only honda encounters ive had

where there's a will (and nice piece of blank cheque), anything is possible...akuma3 wrote:and that's why i said i wish i could make my FTO 4WD, drive train lol way over the limit for me, i actually ask around already but some mechanic said they can't do it on FTO, other cars yes

after witnessing an EG Civic dishing out a sickening can of whoop-ass on WRXs / Soarers / old-school rotors (let alone FTOs) at Wakefield Park few months ago, I have made an oath never to make anymore Honda jokes...

there is sooo much things you can do to a Civic, you never what what you're up against on the streets these days...

the Civic was N/A and it must've been screaming past 9000rpm on the main straight - deadset, it sounded like an angry pack of bees in a Milo can LoL...
i suspect it would been running a worked JDM B18B motor in it or something... ask Steve / David / Tanya - it flew past us in Robb's car at the main straight! (and boy what a strange experience that was...

ummm yeahg just to clarify that...
its a civic with an integra motor...
compression was raised to about 11:1 and about 10-15k was spent on the engine...

but you can look at those specs alone and think that one car is faster than another.rxz wrote:from the specification, even an FTO GR has more torque, more power, more cylinder, and bigger engine size than a VTI-R civic (kerb weight is a bit heavier though)
unless it was a GS FTO, inexperienced driver, or more people in the car, i believe there shouldn't be any problems with civic
my cousin drives an auto GLI civic and he takes pride in red-light GP
he reckons he can kill my fto, but I just never prove it to him for his own sake
IF you have one engine that produces 200KW but only between 7-8k, and nothing below that rpm, an engine with 170KW that produces peak power much earlier would be the engine to have. Specs is one thing, but its powerband is very important also.
Then you have to take into consideration, gear ratios, diff ratio etc.

payaya is absolutely right - and is relevant to the similar post about the FTO vs RX8 argument too. I have ridden around in one of them a couple of times, and unless he was REALLY on it, it was sluggish. I know that this is an argument also used on FTO's, but compared to the RX8 the MIVEC powerplant it is quite a bit more useful IMO.
You have to have useable power and torque down low otherwise you opponent has driven away from you before you are making useful numbers.
