Putty Road run - tomorrow!
Sorry for the late notice
But a mate & I have just decided to go for an impromptu run up the Putty tomorrow. Not quite sure on route after that (whether we stop in at Wollombi etc) but we'll work that out tomorrow. My mate has a brand new Renault Megane RS250, so it'll be a spirited run (no swifts lol.) Wont be a full day, aiming to be back by 2pm.
Leaving my place at 9:00am sharp. If you miss us, head for the putty post haste with your CB on channel 10. I got a 4km radius on mine.

Re: Putty Road run - tomorrow!
In an FTO it would be quite a nice drive (obviously suspension depending) though they have resurfaced a lot of it the last couple of years - just dont get too carried away there Bennoz, cant have the red rocket written off on some stupid pothole, mid hairpin

It's nowhere near as bad as Broke Road!
I had to do 40 on broke road with some penis local tail gating me.
Only to get to speed when the road went flat, and him still tailgating me.

Wisemans Ferry road is like Paramatta Road in comparison.
Honestly, I cannot think of a more torturous stretch of tarmac for a cars suspension than Broke Road.
Having said that, when we were in the Hunter in May, they were laying down some new shiny black.
So, perhaps the name won't hold reason much longer.

Re: Putty Road run - tomorrow!
The Putty is 150km stretch of road linking Windsor to Cessnock & goes through the mountains
Was a popular cattle track in the 1800s.
Its also sign posted at 100kph & in places it just not possbile to hit that speed no matter what you're driving. So it's 'legal' speeding round the bends
And yeah, Broke & Wisemans roads can cup my balls, they're sh*t house. Mind you, the road leading into Wollombi has been done up a bit, no more dirt sections.
I demolished a tank of gas in 300kms Flogged seven shades of sh*t out of the car. Brakes were sensational.
I've also decided I need a bigger swaybar on the front.

Why do you need a bigger swaybar at the front?
Any pics of the road?
And is there a destination, or is it just the road which is fun?
