Those nuts are tighter than the nun's proverbial.Bennoz wrote:They couldn't crack the castle nuts. Even with a 4WD suspension guy there

Dammit... I just thought of a way to undo those damn castle nuts...

Everything else got pulled out and we found a new way to get an FTO onto wheel ramps (jack up the front, put the ramps under the wheels, lower car onto ramps then continue drive forwards

I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!
until then:

So, you killed my fun little NX with your left foot.
And then went about killing a perfectly good FTO with same said foot.
I'm glad I'm not your missus.

Re: Late Notice DIFL Day tomorrow friday 19/7
Judging by the sounds it was making when the clutch pedal was released, I wouldn't be surprised if the clutch plate has been moving around when engaged mis-aligning itself, and because of that the spigot bearing is completely shot.
The smell from just driving up the ramps was horrendous (read "burnt d!ck") so it's probably gone. Won't know how bad it is until we get the tranny out of there...
Also, anyone (bennoz, I'm looking at you here) know the best way to remove the g'box while the engine is still in place? There's only one engine mount that holds the engine in place, the other three all attach to the g'box... Do I get a block of wood and cut it down to size and stick it under the starter-motor housing? Or will it hang fine off that single mount? (something I'd rather not do...)

It's a 50/50, it will either be done, with it half working, or not at all.
So yeah, could be a DNF.
