I saw a red FTO parked down the road from my work today, outside the council depot dog pound. Just before lunch, while I was test driving a Ford Territory I had just serviced. At the end of my work day it was still there, so I drove down and parked my FTO behind it. I went into the dog pound asking who owned the FTO, at first I was looked at by confused volunteers, until I explained that I like FTO's and owned one myself. It belonged to a 60-65 year old grandmother "Trish", who has owned it since 2000 and was volunteering at the dog pound, she was scrubbing out kennels. After a 10 minute conversation, I asked her about her missing fuel cap door. Trish told me that it broke at the hinge, she has tried 10 different places to have it fixed, and was told by all that it could not be welded. I commented to Trish that I would see if I could find a replacement petrol cap door for her, as I am a
member of a very giving and caring FTO Australia forum.
So if anyone has a spare petrol cap door, preferably in red, and would like to donate it to Trish, a community minded volunteer grandmother who is worried about people stealing her petrol, and could post it to me, I would be more than happy to fit it for her.
P.S. My misses told me I would be wasting my time asking but I told her,
"I believe in the forums' community spirit"
