Repairable my ass. Bin it.

Take your 5.5k and buy another one. You'll get a good one for that. Especially when the condition of the motor doesn't matter seeing as its being converted to 6A13.

I agree I wouldn't rebuild it, but for $900 delivered it's probably worth buying it back, provided you have somewhere to store and strip it. You'll probably make that back selling bits off it and you get to keep some good bits for the new one (assuming of course there are some good bits on it?)

5.5k might be an auto :? but thats my plan for now. but also depends on how much everything will add up too. Might end up cheaper getting a stock car with hairdryer in it.

You've never seen a conversion like this, have you? The car gets ripped to pieces

A change of gearbox will be the last of your issues!

You'd have to rebuild the entire car, but yeah it would work.
Personally I'd say find a good condition body with a crap engine *not hard these days it seems*
And do the conversion in that.
The good thing is you don't have to worry about Blueslip and can pass the car off for a while driving it to get sorted until it's good enough for *hmmm, mental block, not enough sleep* inspection, for some certificate.

Damn woman keeping me awake.

FTO hunting begins I guess. Saw a good nick GR. I think it should be fine with a GR right? ( seeing ben's started off with a GR)

Yeah, just put your GPX brakes on the GR.
Easy swap.

Haha, probably better off with aftermarket ones if youre gonna go to all that effort.. GPX brakes suck.

What, all 4 bolts worth of effort?

Regardless, you'll need to upgrade the brakes to have the car engineered with the bigger motor.

GPX brakes warp real easily..

By effort I mean if hes going to get a shell and drop a motor in while fixing everything else up he may as well install some new brakes too, rather than just putting in his old GPX ones
