engine and exhaust warning light flicking (stalling as well)

Post by Akys »

while i am driving, especially during acceleration from stationary point, the car will jerk and feel like its gonna stall. only happen in 1st and 2nd gear atm.
dash show engine warning light and exhaust warning light. and when its happening i can hear clicking noise.
the same clicking noise i hear when i break and stop at the set of light.
so it goes ->break->clicking noise->car stopped-> accelerate-> engine click and feel like its gonna stall with warning light flicking

Will be doing that. might be some sensor. thanks

I will. but most prob will be taking the haltech out and sell it since the factory ecu is reflashable

You can not check it from the out side, you need to remove it.

You could actually sorta test it by leaving it to cool overnight and park it on the street and in the morning start it straight away and drive off while the cat is still cold and see if the cat temp warning light comes on straight away. If so it could just be a dodgy sensor.

May work. :)

The exhaust warning light is not tied into your ECU, so your ECU will not lodge a fault code. If the light is on it's almost a certainty your cat is blocked.

went to mechanic today. it happens every single time we floor the the car while driving.
cat converter is fine.
we suspect that its the ecu not working with the intercepter after the ecu got resetted. ( changed battery)
anyone with interceptor had the issue?

Only 2 others with interceptor I believe.
Aza and Dwayne.

Kind of an odd fault, I would also say it's the cat... but if proven otherwise, then beyond me...

Faulty sensor?

found a possible prob. my 12v wire that supply my amp power snapped, (fuse blown and split the cable into 2) the live end had been dangling above the extractor and cause sparks. checked fuse everything all good.
removed the wire now, we'll see how it goes :)
