Installing new indicator arm help?

Post by den0va »

So my new indicator and windscreen wiper arms came in the post tonight. I am looking to install them myself tomorrow so I was just wondering, has anyone done this before that know's the do's and don'ts of installing them. Or anyone able to walk me through the steps I need to take to install them properly.

Thanks in advance :D

For starters download this and read chapters 37 + 52B.
I'm sure it will be a little tricky if you have an airbag, pretty easy if you don't.

How much did you pay for it?

The hardest part will be taking your steering wheel off the spline if it's stuck.
I have had my wheel off, I just worked the wheel off after removing the nut, pulling on the left/right/top/bottom of the steering wheel over until it came loose. :D
If you still can't remove it, you can buy a steering wheel puller. If you decide to go to a hammer, as some do, be very carefull of your dash, mine has two chips in the dash due to the previous owner :(

I find it's easiest to rock the steering wheel from left to right, with a tiny bit of force.
Leave the nut on, but wound off to the last few threads.
Only ever come across 1 real stubborn wheel, but the car was from the 60s
