If you're using 98RON fuel octane boosters will make little difference. They will be much more noticeable on lower RON fuels and on cars tuned for lower RON fuels.

RichH, I remember reading that review awhile ago, and loved it.

It was very detailed, and beautifully explained.

I've only ever filled up with BP since then, however, the otherday, I went to a Mobile servo to buy some stuff, and noticed they had "Synergy 8000" which is suppose to run at 98ron too.

Have you tried it? Any idea's, if it'll be as good/better then bp?

Synergy 8000, is just as good as BP Ultimate, they are actually very similar chemistry wise aswell...

BP Ultimate & Synergy 8000 get the thumbs up. Optimax gets the thumbs down.

In terms of lower RON fuels, Caltex Vortex Gold (95RON) also gets a thumbs up as an alternative on those occaisions when fuel prices skyrocket, when you're doing a long trip or when you can't find 98RON fuel.
