Help with Sound System please

Post by Ftowner »

Hey guys, I know next to nothing about sound systems in general so I'm obviously uneducated in Car sound and need your help!

I'm just wondering what amp and sub i should buy? I hear some are good for certain type of cars and such and i just want to know what you guys recommend or what you have in your FTO?

I already have these 6x9's in the rear http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-99693/

And i was thinking would these go well with it or not? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-73622/

^^^ Fairly cheap and i get an amp and sub. And i heard kicker is a good brand so I'm wondering if it is any good?

I have those KS Kicker 6*9 connected to a 640 watt Amp :D
Take a look at my ride in "Members Rides" I list my sound system and have pics :D
Take a look at http://www.ryda.com.au/ to compare prices.

If you want to spend a bit more, I would go for this......
:thelist:
Kicker comp sub in Kicker factory box (not just a no-name box that JB are putting the lower quality Kicker sub in)
http://www.ryda.com.au/Kicker-07VC124-1 ... /vc124.htm
This amp would be for your sub only (it would kick butt)
http://www.ryda.com.au/Kicker-08ZX300-1 ... zx3001.htm
Phone Ryda and discuss, they are pretty good with their knowledge

Ive looked at pretty much everything in the Members Rides section so I probably have seen it, ill look again anyway haha. Those are pretty pricey but I can afford it, is that for extreme Doof Doof or what? What im trying to ask is, are the jb hi fi sub / amp combo really that bad? I do mostly play Electro / House and some dubstep i spose so mayby the ones you showed are more suited.

Oh wait hold on!!!! One of my mates is selling:

2x 12" fusion subs
and
2 6''inch evolution amps

Are these any good? I will be able to get them fairly cheap since its a friend as well! Im just not sure how good the amp has to be to supply my 6x9s and subs.

And should i be buying 2 amps and 2 subs or just 1 each or what?

Ftowner, opportunity knocks for a reason.
Go for your mates gear, I'm sure it will sound great, should save you some $.
1 or 2 is up to what you want and can afford.
My gear took a long time to collect, you will upgrade in the future, have fun and enjoy what you have at the time :D
