Lol 9L/100km is great, used to get similar consumption figures from my gpx. Probably the best you're going to get, definitely nothing wrong with those figures.
I get 10-11L/100km (driving conservatively) from the 1.6L 4AGE in my corolla. I'm sure it needs a tune, even better would be to get a aftermarket engine management system installed followed by a tune up as it's running a bit rich.

If you think the FTO was bad on fuel, then either there's a problem with the car (blocked cat, 02 sensor etc) or you're a massive tightarse & should be driving a Prius. Fact.

We've used two thirds of the tank, and about ~500Kms driven, does that seem right for a stock GPX?
