Same , I still have the cd's and still play them from time to time . I have also found the perches docket for the car, but I have no idea where that is now .

and it looks like the board is glued to the enclosure, so it doesn't look easy to replace the cap

I filled it with hot glue as some people say that it will stop the whine, it didn't but quietened it a little bit.
Wrapping it in 1 old shirt nearly silenced it completely, so I may try in two tomorrow, and just throw it behind the dash like that :p
