Re: fto wont turn over
Yep water in engine will do it
.
If it is that then it would be cheaper to get another engine, faster to get back on the road too.

Re: fto wont turn over
Maybe you need to buy a cheap car so you can work and fix your FTO over time

How hard it is to turn? With wheel off, extension bad through splash guard you can turn it with a half inch ratchet. If you are a small bastard then you should be able to turn it with an extension bar. Make sure car is in N!Connor_1994 wrote:i tried to turn engine manually the other day, extremly hard, with no luck,

What you can do is see if you are getting power to the starter once you turn the key, if you are, then obviously your engine is bye bye.

Pull the plugs out and try. If it turns over keep it going for a minute or so to get rid of the water. Then put it back together again and try to start it.Connor_1994 wrote:i tried to turn engine manually the other day, extremly hard, with no luck,

Margarets TF seized when it had HGF, the bloody garage ran it until it was so full of water/oil mix it came through the top of the engine and through the manifold and into the cylinders. I ran it with the plugs off to get the gunk out and it started once it was clear.

Re: fto wont turn over
From a guess to turn the engine you need to apply 80-90 nm to the crank pulley which is a bit less than a wheel nut. I can easily turn the engine with a normal sized half inch ratchet. I've got a 60kg guy are work and he is weak as but I reckon he would be able to turn the engine.
If you were standing on it and it's not moving then something is wrong. Maybe rip the rockers off and see if anything is bent?
