this is a hard one :(

Post by kermut »

hi guys, having issues with my 6A13TT, the engines got a random misfire...so far ive changed spark plugs, coil packs, had my injectors cleaned, done a conpression test..result were 200psi on all cylnders or close to, ive also cleaned my throttle body and stepper motor. And still the idle is all over the place, as in it will idle fine for a second or two then drop and then pick up again :/..im stumped as to what it could be...any suggestions guys? any input would be great guys thanks :)...

I had a bad idle problem, kept racing then stalling over and over, replaced all my vacuum hoses cleaned stepper motor and throttle body but didn't fix it.
Changed stepper motor and it was fixed :D

Its still missing under high boost isn't it? You gotta ditch those factory coil packs man, they can't handle anything over 14 pound, you're getting 'blow out' - where there boost is actually blowing the spark out like a candle. Get some Bosch HEC716s in there & you can wind the boost up to 18.

The idle could be anything, especially with your aftermarket computer. I recently fixed an idle issue with a firmware upgrade on the ECU. Do the math on that

Turn your A/C off and check the idle!

leads are good i checked by spraying water on them in the dark, AC dont have AC got rid of it...ben yeah using the factory MAF again along with the factory ecu and everything else...stumped i am :/...could it be the ecu as the 02 sensor wires were grounded onto the chasis of the car and i only found out when i changed it about a week ago? could that have stuffed my ecu?

Maaaaybe. I dont reckon though, I reckon you need to check your MAF, the sensor in it may need cleaning. It was the source of idle problems for me years ago.

If your idle goes up and down and you get low speed juddering, say in a car park, then check your TPS.

hey guys ok so i cleaned my MAF with that MAF cleaning spray didnt help :(..readjusted tps still nothing. but now theres another issue..you cant feel that boost feeling untill 15psi :s..anything before that is like that car is guttless, but when it does kick in it kicks in hard. ps theres no boost leaks i pressure tested it :(..

im starting to suspect the ecu is dying or dead because some days it runs perfect and some days like sh*t :/..
