Wheel Bearings.
I'm looking at replacing the front wheel bearings on my 98' GPvR w/ABS

Would I be correct in assuming these are the replacments?
Also, would it be plausible for me to remove the hub assembly myself and take it down to a mechanic to press them out or should I just leave it all to the mechanic?

Getting the hub off is a pain too, especially if you don't have a compressor to get the castle nut off & a ball joint splitter for the control arm & steering ball joints.

My mechanic is an ex mitsi dealer mechanic, he knows his way around an FTO.

To the OP, you'd most likely need to factor in a wheel alignment as well

As I said above, if you're confident you can crack the castle nut & split 2 ball joints, then sure, save yourself some money.

A mechanic will prob charge ya half hour labor to remove the hubs! Pain in the arse if ya don't know what ya doing.

Yep. Thats expensive though, got a bearing shop nearby? All the part numbers are in my thread.

You're essentially dismantling the entire front suspension. I'd be very surprised if the alignment was exactly the same after you put it all back together. Agreed. They're some fairly crude nuts, bolts & holes in the front hubs, there aint no toleranced stuff down there, you can actually make quite significant alignment changes in just the 2 strut to hub bolts.
