The special edition model was basically a fully optioned model, yellow in colour and with special badging. The extra features it had was:
- LSD
- Air bags
- ABS
- Momo steering wheel
It did not include any suspension or body kit mods (that was the Nakaya tune model).
Most of these options became standard on the '97+ models. In many ways it is a series 2 model but with the original series 1 body kit on it.
The special edition model was limited in numbers and would be most valuable if kept in their original condition.

To check for lsd, I think, jack up the car, and spin one of the wheels, the other should start spinning as well.
And for the records, I would love to have had a GPvR in Manual with climate control and folding mirrors(?).
I understand all limited ediitions fto's, were manual as well.
As for the GPvR, wasn't LSD only avliable on manual, or the other way arround? can't remember?

According to the FTOOC in the UK it was available as both auto and manual:

Other than the limited edition model, the FTO was never released in yellow. However, I would guess that a number have been resprayed yellow to look like the limited edition model.
While I like the look of Akumi's car, in some ways it's a pity it has been modified rather than being kept in mint limited edition condition, as from what I understand, only around 500 were made.

Hey Akumi....on your site....it says you've a MOMO steering wheel......but on the last pic you have, its the same as mine. So is that a MOMO steering wheel or not?
Sorry just want to clarify.......
Maybe we should start a new topic concerning LM Edition FTO. Basically it doesn't even have much information about it.

Yes RT, i understand i'm actually trying to find out, because i don't have momo, but i do have folding mirror and the rear wiper. Now what i was told is that the limited edition comes just in yellow colour. It doesn't mean there's no yellow FTO. I think they misunderstand that all yellow are Ltd Edition. There's still yellow FTO but they don't neccessary have to be LTD Edition. just that LTD edition only comes in yellow. It's like LTD Edition FTO is in the the subset of FTO. That's the best way i can explain it. Coz on my firepane it's also Y77 which is Dandelion Yellow.
Aiks, i think i'm confusing myself.

According to all the FTO brochures from Mitsubishi and all the information I've every seen on the FTO, yellow was never an option. Only the limited edition model came in yellow and only around 500 of them. But as I've said above, I reckon a few people have resprayed them yellow.

I think you'll be lucky to meet another person, in Australia, with an LTD, that is, if yours is an LTD.akumi wrote:anyone has a LTD Edition Yellow FTO that hasn't been touched? I mean in their original form??? Now i'm really curious!!! hahaha.
Which is why, I want your car.
Lets see...
*force persuations* You want to give me your car

Has anyone gone about getting an aftermarket LSD for their FTO? I thought I heard somes guys on the UK board saying, only the manuals came with LSD, but they mite've been wrong. One thing for sure, is they were only avliable on the facelift models and LTD of course.
As Ruchi said as well, Yellow was never an option, if it came from the factory in yellow it was an LTD. There were no other yellow fto's ever made.

I could've sworn, that the ltd's came with the momo steering wheel, which your's in fact, is not.
Two ways to check if it's ltd is, it should have this bade on the car somewhere

Or jack it, and tap one of the wheels, to make it spin, the other one should spin as well. This is an indication of LSD, and no pre-facelift came with LSD.
Your car should also have ABS and I think traction control.
