What are you going to do with the old engine?

If you're just going to bin it let me know I'd be interested in taking it to strip down and cut open to see what can be done for a few extra cheap ponies

You never know, strap a new crank angle sensor to it and it might magically start to work.

Just make sure to set up the timing for 3 cams otherwise it may all go pear shape.

Why would i want to waste all the money on that engine when it has metal filings all through it and one cam clearly won't work.
Also i needed the new belts and sh*t anyway so i don't see the point in just a crank angle sensor hah.
I've got the engine i'm putting in which has done 55,000km's i'll pick it up sunday and will have my manual gearbox with LSD put in as the engine goes in. Just with a normal clutch as heavy duty is pointless for anything as low hp as a an FTO

Sorry, you may have misunderstood me. My post was meant as a joke.

When I said that it might magically start to work, I realise that your engine is beyond hope and changing a sensor will not fix it.

Also, when I mentioned that you should set up the timing for 3 cams, I thought that this would be absurd enough for you to realise that I was not being serious. If anyone thought this sounded like a good / tempting option, please never ever touch the timing belt.

My timing is out by 3 teeth and what it did was feed more fuel and air in and in return my MIVEC is very similar to hitting boost on a turbo car.....ok I'm joking! Lmao

Hey Chris that's so unlucky but lucky I guess as when your car is back together with the new gear it'll be 2x times more better!

If there is no cam pulley on a cam don't worry about the filings as it's not spinning.

Woah, just saw your pics. Similiar thing happened to me where the cam was oil-starved, but it was discovered early(Awesome mechanic) so I just needed the front camboxes changed.

I still have the rear cambox as spare.

Water pump, timing belt are the main ones but I suppose it's only got roughly 50,000 is on it so they wouldn't be too bad
