True that.

An Update for you all.

Sparky is running pretty well now. But there has been a small issue which is starting to annoy me a bit.

Over the last few months, the needle on my tacho keeps randomly dropping and bouncing all over the place. When this happens there is no change the the engine or revs. So I thought to myself, probably just a loose wire somewhere, no biggy. This happens about 10-15 times a day (I drive about 100km per day as part of my job). On occasion (maybe 2/3 times a week) when the needle drops, I lose all power to the engine. It's almost like it's idling even though my foot is planted. Makes kinda of a "berrrggghhhhh" noise when I plant my foot. 2 seconds later and bam all my power is back. Majority of the time it occurs in the morning maybe 5 minutes after car startup. But I have had happen after driving all day aswell. Any clues?

Cheers guys,

Cameorn

No spark!! damn. I won't be much help in that department sorry. Don't know a whole lot about engine. A few guys on the forum will definitely be able to assist though. Does it turn over at all?

Blargh. Well if none of the spark plugs are sparking and you've already changed the ignition module, my guess would be either the ignition coil, crankshaft position sensor, or corroded/broken wires. Buuuttt I'm no mechanic so you might want to check with one ;)

Man I am in the industry and I don't understand why all that work needed to be done on your car.

Oil and water leak? Without even seeing the car lets do it all for the sake of it.

Let's fix this by changing the timing belt. Oil leak? Change the rockers cover gaskets, and while we are changing the timing belt change the cam seals, crank seals.

$100 hoses, radiator $250, Waterpump $150.00, Timing kit $300, Rocker gaskets and seals $140.

Generous prices above and smash in a generous 10 hours labour. Total cost under 2k. I cant see there being any other leaks from a Mitsubishi or any Mitsubishi V6 after this from the engine and cooling side.

So why did the engine have to come out again? Knock a couple of hours off the labour.

PARTS
6x SPARK PLUG NGK STANDARD - Why copper in the rear bank?

- Water Bypass Housing - Why?
- Radaitor Cap Housing - Why?
- Camshaft Bolts - Why?

Honestly mate I can't remember why, but there was a reason.... Mitsiman might remember why.

Everyone seems to think crank angle sensor.
So i have ordered a new one from japan off Dwayne and as soon as it gets delivered i am giving a mate at work 4 cases of beer to put it in for me. :)
So over not having a car to drive....im just stuck on base.

Why did you order one from Japan? 8O

They're the same as a TJ Magna, can get 'em from wreckers or even eBay.
