Time to commit

Post by dstocks »

OK, been slaving away over a hot chainsaw and made a big bonfire:

Image

The red dot is a camera lens cover, so its BIG (there are some decent size bits of wood on this one, so should last till morning easy). Now, time to get off your backsides and commit to coming down to share it with me on the 7/8 April. This has been a great event in the past and im hoping this year is no exception. Time to put in for leave if you need it. If you do it now, you should have no issues with getting it approved.

Oh and given its a long weekend, has someone got time to look into a track day that weekend as well. Might be interesting.

If you havent added your name to the bonfire thread yet (its a sticky in this section), do so now!!!!!

cheers

    That's my one gripe.
Not because I'll speed and lose my licence, but because everyone else around will and I have to deal with them until then.

To be honest I remain somewhat confused as to why there is this "bonfire"?
Sorry for my ignorance, but is this some type of Australia tradition? And, is it not warm in April?

I would like to come as I am sure it would be lots of fun but I no longer live in Australia.
    Next year hopefully though ;)

I guess its becoming a bit of a tradition. Ill keep running it as long as people keep wanting to come. Havent had a single one that has dissapointed yet.

First week in April has been great weather actually. Starts to cool down in March. If you leave it much later its getting too cold overnight.

As to why, gives people a chance to get together and chat/share ideas. In order to keep the club going, we need the passion and enthusiasm. Without that, the whole thing would die a slow death.

Besides, I have a lot of dead trees to get rid of and need the excuse!

I never laughed so hard the year Simon was there.

      that was an absolute cracker.

Some very good memories down there.

Catch up with people of similar interest and humor, nice large property that Dwayne doesn't mind getting destroyed, Beer and food a-plenty.
The excellent hosting by Dwayne, who every year never disappoints and asks for so little in return (can't be thanked enough really), and always feel guilty leaving.

It is a great weekend and something I look forward to every year.

Especially if you go with a group on the journey down or back, it's great to be with a convoy.

still can't believe I kept up with Aza and AJ with the RVR and full trailer load that one weekend back.
