Was talking to dave at rpw and he says im needing
Turbo spec cams
2.20mm steel shim
Replacment gasketand arp bots?

I thought the shim size was a bit thick. Would that not cause timing issues?

When you replace your head gasket you need new head bolts too. The ARP bolts allow you to reuse them, whereas OEM bolts can only be used once as they stretch.

With cams, the MIVEC cams should be fine but they are less than ideal. Either which way turbo setups have less duration than NA setups so you should be able to regrind these. Unlike NA setups you will only be removing material so it shouldn't be an issue

The thing is everyone is just guesstimating.

For starters what I would do is ask Dave what the bore of the head gaskets shims are.
To give you an idea, quickly plotting it in a CR calculator if the head gasket shim is 2.2mm @ 80mm bore your CR *should* drop to 8:1.
This is assuming a stock head gasket is used as well and you just added the shim cc's into the combustion chamber

Not neccesarily true. There is an acceptable stretch range as per the manual below. I got dozens upon dozens of used head bolts in my nuts & bolts box and guess what? None of them is over 96.4mm...
