Re: fto awd?? vr4 Legnum
a lot of people gave done considerable research on the matter, and quite frankly i think that most of them cannot justify doing it for the amount its going to cost.
I will be attempting mine early next year.
It has been researched that an evo would be the best donor over a legnum as well.

Use enough of an EVO 3 floor for the diff and the tank and you're away. EVO 4 on engine/box/subframe will drop in.

It will, but will need some bellhouse modifications.

If you are going that far why stick to the 6A12? My original plan (before the Mrs walked out of her job) was to go to a 4G63 and all EVO running gearfto-007 wrote:So an evo 4 gearbox will bolt on a 6a12 block?

This would probably be an ideal purchase:

Re: fto awd?? vr4 Legnum
I know i will have a lot of problems as there is no where near enough actual progress done, only a lot of theory work, so i will be forking out a lot of dosh for someone to learn how to do this.fto-007 wrote:yes you doTaz wrote:Damn, i need to hurry up and do mine so i can write a guide and put all this to rest once and for allso we can all see how hard and what little problems you had
I guess an upside to it is that once the person who has done it (who i really want to be my guy coming over next month or two) can do it again relatively easyish...

Might do a proper guide and charge $15 a pop to recover some costs

Re: fto awd?? vr4 Legnum
and i will most likely be doing the awd conversion before the 4g, as i figure there is not much point putting a 4g into a fwd fto, so that will fix the problems of whether it can mate to a 6a12 or not - and if not i might just have to do a swap then and there
At that rate ill be eating beans out of a can in holey gloves around a trash can bonfire for the next 6 months.
But it will be interesting to say the least. Need to do a slight bit more research first before i take the idea to my guy, then we will have to plan it for some time and then source parts, then go ahead and try it out, get slowed down by all the problems as cmon it aint going to be smooth...
Then after all that a 4g should be a cake walk.....
i like to kid myself sometimes.
If all goes to plan i will be competing in time attack next year in the clubman (or if i win lotto - open) class and represent! But its more realistically looking like a 2013 WTAC project, with some saturday arvo sprints at lakeside first
