Melbourne mechanics

Post by mosti »

Any of you melbourne boys recommend a mechanic I can take the car to get the tappets fixed?

I just cant be fucked pulling it apart for a 3rd time to see if I can make a difference.

I've already called two local mechanics and they both didn't want to touch the car.

"we don't do grey imports"

Cars? How many other cars tick? Mitsubishis tick.

My runabout Falcon has done over 300k and has not ticked once on 10 buck oil.

Mitsubishi have known about their flawed engine design before the FTO was released but continued on with their system. They are still using it and my neighbors current model Lancer ticks!!! Over 20 years and they can't get it right.

Is something we should not even be worrying about considering all others manufacturers seem to get it right!!!

How many times do you get confused mates coming up to you and saying "Is that your car ticking??". It's so uncommon that people dont even know what the hell it is! And Mitsubishi seems to reward the majority of their customers with the problem! If you don't improve your product people and their current line up reflects this.

Would I buy another Mitsubishi? No way.

Dont get me wrong I love my FTO but some of Mitsubishi's issues they need to fine solutions for.

Hey Mosti

Someone has recommended C and D Motorworks on Duke Street Sunshine. I drive past them all the time and they do good business. I have never taken my FTO there personally as I like to drive to ringwood and visit the guys at revzone just so my car can be parked next to a R35!

If you do go to C & D, let me know how it went as I am due for a major service soon.

Seriously the best mechanics are the ones at servos. The better the place looks the more they are ripping off their clients. I got this dude at my local caltex to do sh*t I can be bothers and it's always cheap and done right.

But come to see as I am going into the industry soon! Northern suburbs!

Going to give C & D a buzz tomorrow to;
1. Firstly see if they will touch the car

and

2. Get a general price range.

However I already know it's going to be like $400 minimum seeing as it takes roughly 4hrs labour.

Lets not forget the probability of them having the tool is quite slim.......who the f**k wants to pay $400 for a stupid piece of metal.

I hate this car and I regret purchasing it. Although I've never had a problem apart from these tappets now.... oh and when the brake jammed and fucked my disk.

What makes things worse is I've just saved enough money to get the roof sprayed cause dad the c**t won't do it because he's busy. He's sprayed over 15 cars off the top of my head. We have all the sh*t.....the compressor, guns and all to do it.
Hope those little c**nts who jumped on my roof die in a f**king fire!

That's enough of a rant, had to blow some steam.

Hey guys,

Yeah im the one that takes my fto there. So far so good with them and dont have a reason to not take my car there.

I also asked about my tappets and after a chat we decided we would wait until the major service because, it not harming the car and it not that nosiy (atm anyway)

Better getting them adjusted when the major is getting done in regards to cost as well.
